Weekly Roundup 6/3/26

WEEKLY ROUNDUP June 3, 2026

Hello! My name is Bob, and I missed that sonic boom last weekend! That’s right. I was totally oblivious to something that literally hundreds of thousands of people heard! Fortunately, I am more observant about the goings on at a certain local farmhouse-focused brewery, which is why I am writing this week’s Amory’s Tomb Newsletter, and not the latest edition of “Meteor Explosions Weekly”!

Before we get to the rest of the news, here’s a quick follow-up on a story we did last week. We did it! We drank all the Broken Latch! Rick reports that he will be cleaning out the lines and switching the Lukr to Man Bun this week. Oh man, I am looking forward to that sweet, sweet Czech-inspired pilsner with a layer of proper Lukr foam on top!

If you did your part by drinking a Broken Latch this past week, thank you! Time to come out to the Taproom and reap the benefits!

On to more of what’s happening at the Tomb:

FEATURED EVENT

Maynard PrideFest Sunday, June 7th from 12:00 - 4:00!

The 3rd Annual Maynard PrideFest will be this Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm in Veterans Park and on Summer Street. Amory’s Tomb will be offering a variety of cans during the festival.

The highlight of the festival will undoubtedly be the Pet Parade! Literally every day in the Beer Garden might seem like a Pet Parade, but this is literally one. There will even be a random drawing where one lucky parading pet (you have to register ahead of time) will win a $50 gift certificate to a pet spa!

After you’ve enjoyed the PrideFest festivities and exhibits, Amory’s Tomb is the perfect place to head in order to round out your day. After all, Amory’s Tomb is a community-based brewery and that means everybody in the community is welcome. It’s very clear that Allen and Rick really mean this, too. That’s why you see the Hate Has No Home Here iconography in various places in the Taproom. Less seriously, it’s why they created a gnarly Pride t-shirt that’s available on the website (see below).

In case you are wondering, Allen will be serving Sunday Fellowship this week as well. So come on out to Maynard PrideFest this Sunday, and head to the Tomb, too!

CAN UPDATE

It’s Hot Beer Season in the Beer Garden!

“What’s Hot Beer Season?” you ask. Well, you need 2 things:

Warm weather

Cans of Man Bun Pilnser

Check and check! It’s Hot Beer Season in the Beer Garden!

A Hot Beer is a can of Man Bun Beer with hot sauce and spices poured on the top of can and, at least traditionally, has been served with a lime. Despite the name, it’s more of a spicy beer with a little bit of heat, like a Bloody Mary. Trust me, if drinking one of these was like eating those hot wings on that TV show, there’s no way you’d get me within 10 feet of one!

Drinking a Hot Beer is always an adventure. Every sip you take from the can will be a little different from the last one. For me, the first sip is always the spiciest because I get a fair bit of the hot sauce that’s sitting right on the rim of the can. Then the next few sips start to taste more and more like regular Man Bun. But some of the hot sauce will have sunk to the bottom, so there’s more of a mix at the end. And the lime shoved into the can changes the flavor, too.

Oh, about the lime. I wrote above that the Hot Beer is “traditionally” served with a lime. And you can certainly get it that way in the Beer Garden. However, Allen and Rick have some other wild options under consideration for this season, including a spicy pickle, dill pickle potato chips and even cheddar cheese! These items - or whatever other devious ingredients they come up with - won’t always be available. So ask your server what’s available when you visit the Beer Garden.

And that reminds me of one other thing. The Man Bun Hot Beer is a Beer Garden Exclusive. You cannot order a Hot Beer inside, and for that matter I don’t think you’re even supposed to take one inside after you order it. The Man Bun Hot Beer is meant to be enjoyed outdoors!

If you’ve been reading the last few newsletters you may have picked up on the subtle clues I’ve been dropping that I like Man Bun Pilsner. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a pure, unadulterated Man Bun in draught or can form. But even I get tired of the same thing all the time. Perhaps you feel the same way. The Man Bun Hot Beer is designed for folks who are yearning for new Man Bun experiences. So come on out to the Beer Garden and give it a try!
